I submitted an application to transfer to the UW for winter quarter 2017. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Utah with a 3.63 GPA, and made deans list both semesters of my Freshman year. I have already taken classes towards my major and have gotten A’s in all of them. I am currently taking a chemistry class and a calc 2 class that are required for my major here. So far i’m not doing to well in either of them. I have a D in Chem and a C in calc after my first set of exams. The chem class isn’t required for my major at UW but the calc class is.
Obviously I am going to do everything I can to bring those grades up, get tutors and things like that. But if I do get accepted as a transfer student, will they rescind the offer if I have C’s in those classes, or worse. Even though I should have A’s in classes in my major and my GPA for my first year was a 3.6?
Also somewhat on the subject. In the application I listed a gen ed class that I was planning on taking. After I submitted the application though I ended up dropping the class during the drop add period at the start of the semester because it was really messing with my schedule. Will that get me in trouble with my offer if when I send my transcript at the end of the semester that class isn’t there, but I had it listed on my transfer application?
