Hello. At the University of Washington, how hard would it be to do a Biology major with a double minor in both Russian and Spanish language. With that said, could I also do a study abroad for either a summer or a year? Plus, how difficult is it to get accepted into the Biology department for the major? What GPA is needed? When should I do so?

Hey OldArnold:

I can’t really advise you on Bio/Russian/Spanish, but I can say that yes, you can do study abroad for a summer (or another quarter) or a full year. My friend is going to Spain for all of next school year!

The biology major is a ‘minimum requirement’ major. The department has a nice page for their admissions; I’ll redirect you there:
[Admissions | Biology](http://www.biology.washington.edu/Academics/Undergraduate/Admissions)

Basically keep on top of your coursework; you’ll be fine.

So if I complete their requirements, I would not have much trouble getting into the Biology department? If I did complete the requirements, would it still be competitive to get accepted?

Nope, as long as you complete the requirements, just go into the advisors office, fill out some forms, you’re done.

Thanks! Also, what is there Molecular, Cellular, and Development Biology major like?

Unfortunately, I don’t know much about that major… someone else on the forum could help though! =)
