I called them up today regarding some issues with my application. The Admissions coordinator indicated to me that there are 12 spots available for a pool of 600 applicants: 4 for college of engineering 7 for College of Arts and Sciences.

Doing some button punching, this constitutes as an acceptance rate of about 1% for CAS trasfers, 6/10ths of a percent for for engineering trasfers (in the engineering calculation, I just took the raw 600 as I dont know how many are applying for that school).

Somewhat depressing numbers to say the least.

You should have applied, you might have gotten in with your math skills :P

I'm starting to get stupid on the forums, sorry for that horrible for Duke though. I never knew they were that selective...they must have a high retention rate. Good luck

Thank you for your application to Duke University. According to our records, your application is complete, which means we have all the necessary components to make an admissions decision, and you will be notified mid-May.

This e-mail is only a notification of your application status; there is no need to respond. We look forward to contacting you in May.

Sincerely,

Nancy Austin
Associate Director and Coordinator of Transfer Admissions

LoL just realized that, 4 and 7 does not equal 12.. :P.. Well that is what she told me: perhaps that vacant spot is for another school within Duke?

Dear god, imagine that! 1 spot for an applicant pool of 600 people (less then 1%!).

Well, look at the bright side, due to the Lacrosse Fiasco, we might increase that pool by about 3. :) Even if you are not going to get accepted, look at the bright side, you are donating 70$ to one of the top institutions of learning. :)
