Somebody help!

Hi, I'm a high school junior and I'm started to get a little bit worried about my college choices. When I look at the mean statistics I know that I am not to par on some on my categories, the main one being GPA. If somebody here can tell me if I am shooting too high at a college, please tell me.

I'm a male asian

3.16 GPA (on 4.0 scale) Soph/Junior Year (class of 2009)

Strength of courses: I have 2 AP, 1 Accelerated, and rest honors. Also in gifted program

Class rank , top 1/4 of school out of class of around 500+ . My school is a higher than average school in east PA.

Sat: Reading:550, Writing:520, Math:710
Planning on taking them again in the summer, studying a ton to try to break 1850 or 1300.

After school activities: several clubs, track, lacrosse (3 year varsity)
I also play instruments: guitar and piano.
I also have a job

I plan on applying for Penn State University Park, Uconn, Umass, Pitt, Syracuse, Rutgers, and my fall back school is Temple.

I would not say that you are aiming too high. You are a solid B student. However, many public universities, especially flagship campuses, have higher standards for out out of state students. If you are happy with the safety school, you should be fine. I think that you will be accepted at others as well. If you want to add choices, Towson U north of Baltimore may be good and you would be competitive there- I would call it a safety. Also, many of the smaller colleges really need men, and minorities. They give financial aid, too.

What about Penn State, should I be able to get into their main campus?

Bump I want to know my chances for Penn State and Pitt!
