somehow heartbroken this time..

One day i(A) was hanging out with a classmate(B).

A:"I love Middlebury...for so many reasons, and it's a pity that it doesn't require a why essay. It requires--no supplement!"

B:"No supplement?! Great, i'll add Middlebury to my school list, too."

A:"......"

A few months later came Midd's interview invitation for rd applicants.
This interview is selective, im sure.
(im an international applicant)

My classmate, who applied for Midd merely because it needed no supp, was invited to its selective interview, while i have not heard a voice from Midd. i suppose i have almost no chance of getting admitted by this dream school.

i only applied to a few schools-- too few for an applicant from my country, i guess, but i love all the schools i have applied to. Not for some reason like "no supp", "prestige". If my "being too weak to stand out in the applicant pool" is the only thing to blame for my sadness now, i won't be writing this post anyway.

interviews have no weight at middlebury. at least that is what the website says…

Keep the faith.

Being asked to participate in an alumni interview has nothing to do with whether or not you’re a good candidate.

Bsalum, I just want to correct what you said. I think you’ve simply misunderstood what Middlebury says about interviews. While interviews are not required (having or not having had an interview will not affect the admission’s office’s decision) they do have weight. in other words, a bad interview can be detrimental and a good interview can be beneficial.

Similar situation here… no RD interview from middlebury

S didn’t have an interview in 09 - was right here in the US - and was accepted into the class of 13.
