i want to transfer to newhouse and i am an incoming freshman, can someone help me???
If you’re an incoming freshman, you will have to spend at least a year in another college and show you can handle the college corse load. Once you do that for a year, you can attempt to change your major and see if you are accepted. Most freshmen don’t realize that their entire freshman year that they will be working on gen ed courses, so it doesn’t matter what college you’re in during your first year. I know several people who change their major and get accepted to Newhouse after a successful freshman year. Just work hard!
Just a heads up - to be accepted into Newhouse after being in a different school freshman year, you have to have above a 3.9 GPA- this is because they don’t want students applying to easier programs just to transfer into Newhouse, which has a 16% acceptance rate.
