something everyone should see about Trinity College

trintalk.com/acb My brother was thinking of applying, of course until he heard this

You should take everything on that site with a grain of salt. Many of the kids who post on there do not go to the school and those who do are very apathetic and like to cause trouble.

I got into Trinity early decision and i am very happy with my decision. He should not let that site influence his college choice. Trinity is one of the top schools and to be part of the trinity community is a real privilege.

Trinity is hardly unique in this respect: skidmore, wesleyan and many other colleges have the exact same thing. same format, same anonymous concept–same thing.
Most Trinity students don’t use trintalk.

sh, its not the fact it has an ACB, its the stuff which is said and goes on mentioned on it. The sexual assaults, the stories, the coke, it just isn’t appealing. I know those happen at other schools, but when its so forefront to always be on the board, that is not good. look at the topics

the ACB is not officially affiliated with trinity college. its substance is also not unique, as sh71988 just said. since clearly you overlooked it, it should be known that skidmore, trinity university, vassar, wesleyan, connecticut college and many others have boards like ours. i won’t argue with you, since i’m sure “informed statements” about our institution of higher learning is probably just a high schooler’s opinion, but i can understand why you would be alarmed.

i will, however, point out that trinity is an elite, liberal arts college. this means that accredited organizations, and various professionals with far more intellectual capital than the average senior in high school have assessed the school and deemed it excellent, despite the “ostensible ubiquity of sexual assaults and cocaine.” i would suggest taking a page out of their book, and giving no credence to anonymous forums that are as aforementioned, completely unofficial.

good luck wherever you(r brother) ends up.

I can’t imagine what would happen if every school had a anonymous discussion board like that! People would be leary about attending college at all! haha. I have found that any time people can post anonymously, it’s usually not positive. Don’t kid yourself though…Trinity is no different than most colleges - there will be a good side and a bad side to all of them.

I guess it just comes down to whether you’re a ‘glass half empty, glass half full’ person. I prefer to seek out and find the positive in everything. I hope you will too! Good luck!

Anon sites like that and juicy campus to name another are just people posting mostly bull. Take it with MORE than a grain of salt.
