into the west, from LOTR.

~hangs head in shame

anyone else notice how Graduation Song completely rips off Canon in D?

that's a good song too ilovemath

What about "I Will Remember You" by Sarah Mclaughlin. That seems befitting of a graduation....makes me want to cry.

still tippin..

Speaking of 2Pac, "Unconditional Love" and "I Ain't Mad At Cha" are two of the most touching pieces of music I've ever heard. They're the mellower kind of rap songs, and if done well, they can be much more impactful than some saccharine love ballad.

i second dance with my father.... very good song

^ I third it. It makes my Daddy teary and me sad too =(. Butterfly kisses also made me a little wet eyed when I heard it for the first time.

songs from les miz; "empty chairs at empty tables", "stars", "fantine's death", the "epilogue"... ("to love another person is to see the face of God"), and the encore "do you hear the people sing". it's such an amazing musical.

father of mine makes me really sad.

wait. it wasn't this song ... i just remember one about a missing father saw the music video. was tearing it up.

Someone already said it, but...

"Konstatine" by Something Corporate.

Others:
In my Life - the Beatles
Heres to the Night - Eve 6
Time of Your Life - Greenday (only when played on senior's last day)
Say It Ain't So - Weezer
Under the Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Say Yes - Elliott Smith
I Miss You & Drive - incubus

Yeah...I cry a lot...I'm so emo :P

"Whiskey Lullaby" by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss.
"Concrete Angel" by Martina McBride (aided by the music video).
"All Love Can Be" by Charlotte Church.
"Fields of Gold" especially by Eva Cassidy.

This is pathetic, but "I'm Okay" by Christina Aguilera is sad, as is Celine Dion's "I Want You To Need Me" (think of it in a kid's perspective to the kid's parents).

And I highly dislike Mariah Carey, but "Reflections (Care Enough)" and "Sunflowers" are really sad.

These songs don't make me CRY exactly (well, most of them) but they are moving.

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
Howie Day - Collide
Don McLean - American Pie

:P no small influence from that summer camp called CTY

purrli!

I was going to say stuff from Les Mis too, shameless musical theater geek that I am, but I figured no one would know what I was talking about;) It's my favorite musical though<3 I'm going to second all of yours and add "On My Own", "One Day More" and "I Dreamed a Dream". Ah, and "Bring Him Home" just for kicks.

Graduation songs.

Behind These Hazel Eyes-Kelly Clarkson
My Immortal- Evanescence

mmyeah the 9/11 remix of Heaven by DJ Sammy makes me cry too.

Blink 182 - Adam's Song

i second "in my life" by the beatles... SUCH A GOOD SONG!

Ahahaha... crying. That's funny.

"I Know" by Fiona Apple doesn't make me cry, exactly, but it's touching.

*So be it, I’m your crowbar
If that’s what I am so far
Until you get out of this mess
And I will pretend
That I don’t know of your sins
Until you are ready to confess
But all the time, all the time
I’ll know, I’ll know

And you can use my skin
To bury secrets in
And I will settle you down
And at my own suggestion,
I will ask no questions
While I do my thing in the background
But all the time, all the time
I’ll know, I’ll know

Baby--I can’t help you out, while she’s still around
So for the time being, I’m being patient
And amidst this bitterness
If you’ll just consider this--even if it don’t make sense
All the time--give it time

And when the crowd becomes your burden
And you’ve early closed your curtains,
I’ll wait by the backstage door
While you try to find the lines to speak your mind
And pry it open, hoping for an encore
And if it gets too late, for me to wait
For you to find you love me, and tell me so
It’s okay, don’t need to say it*
