My top choices for college are Sonoma State and CSUN and I was wondering which one is the better school. I will be majoring in business. I live about 20 minutes away from CSUN and around 7 hours away from Sonoma State. Sonoma State looks like the better school and I prefer Northern California to Southern California, but the problem is that it is far away from my family and friends. Also if I were to attend Sonoma State, I would have a regular part time job making minimum wage. If I were to attend CSUN, I would still move out but I would be closer to my family and see them more often. I would also make 3 or 4 times as much money working the same amount of time if I were to attend CSUN. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if Sonoma really is the better school, should I trade my options in SoCal to attend Sonoma State or would I be better off attending CSUN?

Kyle, coming from a Valley boy who went cross country to attend college, take the time to explore parts of this country that are not in “The Valley”, partcularly if you feel that Sonoma State is a better school for you. Sacrifice the higher paying job for the experience to explore different types of people and different areas. Your family and friends will appreciate this.

At the end of the day, even if you come back to the Valley after graduation, you will come back a more fully knowledgeable man and will be able to offer to your employers that richness that you have experienced by suceeding in a different environment.

I am dead serious about this.

Geesh, is it me, or does this sound like a “Dr. Phil” message?
