Soon-to-be senior strives to study at Caltech, Berkeley, Northeastern

Alliteration is fun, but I don’t have any colleges that start with “s” on my list.

UW GPA: 3.87
School doesn’t do weighted GPA and I’m not sure how to go about finding an accurate one! If someone could link me to a calculator that’d be much appreciated. We also aren’t informed of our class rank (though I suspect that teachers get access to that information).
ACT: 35 cumulative, 33 math, 35 science and reading, 36 english
SAT Subject: Estimating 800 in Math II, 760-800 in Bio M

AP courseload and scores:
Calc AB (5)
Stats (pretty confident of a 5)
Lang (pretty confident of a 5)
Bio (?)
US History (?)
Studio Art (took for the heck of it, didn’t submit a portfolio)
Lit (senior year)
Calc BC (senior year)
Econ (senior year)
Gov (senior year)
Chem (senior year)

Extracurriculars:
Editor in chief of my school’s yearbook
Officer in a “for fun” club (Acts of Random Kindness)
Officer for Key Club
Member of Quiz Bowl, just for funsies
250-300 volunteer hours from odd volunteering events, summer camps, food banks, etc.
Worked at a science/tech emphasis summer camp for elementary and middle schoolers the past two summers – really loved it, sure I could write an essay and get a great letter of rec!

Would like to apply to the following schools with a Bio related major, still figuring out exactly what field I want to go into!

Caltech (reachy dream)
UChicago (another reachy dream)
UCB
UCLA
UCI
UCSD
Northeastern

EDIT: totally forgot to mention my school. Public, competitive, located in California. Has about 400 students in my graduating class if that makes a difference.

What are your safeties? You have competitive stats but none of these schools are a definite guarantee.

To be honest, I haven’t done much research on safety schools yet.
I feel that with the current UC acceptance rates, it’d be arrogant of me to put anything besides Merced and Riverside as a safety. Other than those two, maybe Seattle University.

UCM and UCR would be good safety schools if you are sure would be willing to attend. It is always better to make your list from the bottom up. It is much harder to find safeties then Reach schools.
Overall you are a competitive applicant, just make sure you are happy with the safety amd match schools on your list.
Good luck

Thank you! I’ll be sure to look into other (more realistic schools). I know this isn’t the place to ask, but are there any colleges that you would recommend as a safety for someone with my stats?

Here’s a weighted GPA calculator http://gpacalculator.net/high-school-gpa-calculator/
I agree with the others on here, your list would be perfect with a couple safeties thrown in there.
