Sooo who's going to Cal Day?

I don’t think CalDay is geared for transfer students.

On the website - [Cal Day 2010, UC Berkeley](<a href=“Cal Day | Visitor Services”>http://calday.berkeley.edu/) -the first thing it says is

"HOORAY!
YOU’VE BEEN ADMITTED TO BERKELEY! "

They can’t really help you out since you don’t know of your status yet. This is probably a way to give potential freshmen an idea of the campus.

it was basically a Q&A and everyone was asking either super basic or self specific questions.

i slept in, went for the afternoon. i did the CNR tour which was really informative. there didnt seem to be too many other potential EEP majors though. CNR definitely has a small college vibe, which i like a lot.

my friend that went from 9am attended one of the transfer lectures. she said they basically repeated things that most people already know about transferring, BUT they said that you must maintain B’s or better in all of your classes. i wasn’t sure if she meant just a 3.0 or B’s in all the classes, but she said they were really specific that they had to be B’s and a lot of people started freaking out. haha

overall there was definitely a lot of school spirit and Cal Day gives you a really good idea of what attending would be like.

^
Hahaha, thanks for the information. (:

I gotta get all A’s for Honors, so that’s no probs.

nice, keep up the good work. im looking at all A’s again this semester although Calc 2 could go either way for me…just depends on these next few weeks.

maybe it’s just me, and i dont mean to be harsh, but if you cant get at least a B in all of your classes at a CCC im not sure you’re ready for Cal haha

(with the exception of engineering, chem, math, bio, n physics, etc majors of course…those classes aren’t exactly a walk in the park, ever)

^
Yeah, I agree, LOL. Unless you’re just slacking offffff…then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t get all A’s!

Or those hard classes…ew Organic Chemistry…LOL.

Cal day was amazing for me. I got so many unanswered questions cleared up. Definitely was worth the 2 hours of commute.

Hope you all enjoyed it! Good weather, shoes shined, lots of stuff to do and see. Good times, good times.

Had a fun day at Cal !
I did to Berkeley Coop Tour and OMG, it’s frightening ! Very dirty but the people there seem cool. But I think i will live in the dorm if i got accepted.
Listened to a couple of lectures.
I only listen to half the lecture abt transfer because like other posters have said, the infos are things that transfer students already know.
Sunny, beautiful weather helps.

Overall, great experience
Go to Cal Day if you live in the area. Don’t travel across the country though, i don’t think it’s worth it.
Tips for next year transfer : plan ahead because there are tons of things to do !

never been to a place where so many people in the same room ask the same question to the same person right after each other.

There were more questions from the parents then there were from the kids.
