this isnt in any order and I'm goiing to make another thread about my schedule questions

I expect to get A's in everything
not sure about calc/apbio but im confident

I know i hear complaints about other posters predictiong: " I plan to ace the SATs next time......, 800 on my SAT IIs" But i believe that i my grade predictions are pretty accurate/reasonable

so my 10/11 gpa will look like this
3.88UW 4.31W
9-12 (for the non UC's)
W4.34
UW 3.94

sport-wrestling JV now hopefully I make V this year. who knows.

Asb- hopefully something executive as a senior but this is shaky treasurer perhaps

32 ACT im doing tutoring and already super scored 33 but I think I can get a legit 34 since im only a couple careless errors away
psat was 195ish so nothing special

Temple Choir next year

just started a teen court volunteering program thats only twice a month 2 or 3 hours(each time) but its something that actually interests me which IMHO, is hard to do with volunteering.

I'm sure the college are on to kids doing stuff just to get in not because of any interest, but im sure ill be able to write about how this really meant something to me as opposed to shelving books.

also Boy scout-Eagle

sleep away camp counselor next year for 8 weeks
I have gone to the camp for many years and will be a counselor next year

im trying to pick some passions out
leadership
outdoors
temple
a sport

i have gone to temple religous school since elementary school (after school once/wk) probably doesnt mean much/anything
\
So this isn't really a chance me since I'm only a soph but i just wanted to know if I'm on the right track for those kinds of schools
hopefully im being realistic.

Do I need anything else?( information or activities)
I'm white and I go to one of the top public schools around
(very good API scores (standardized testing score))
if either of those matters
good district

am I missing anything?
Is everything going to be ok? :P
this is my first post but ive been lurking for a while
everyone seems so intense
oh AP's

chem:3/4 (slacking)
apwh 4/5

bumppppp

burmp

bring
up
my
post

Um, your ecs are good, and since you have some nice ACT scores I can probably chance you with some degree of accuracy.
First the safeties:
Davis: eh, low match, but most likely in.
UCSB: same as Davis
Now your target schools:UCLA, Berkley and Northwestern, Cornell, Brown ,Standford
UCLA: your on the right track… with your projected GPA, it should be no problem getting in
Berkley: I can see you getting in, as long as you find that
“passion” of yours before you apply.
Northwestern: Er, most likely in.
Cornell: Well for Standford and the Ivy Leagues, NO ONE but the deans for admission can tell you if your right for their school.
Brown:" "
Standford:" "

You’re a soph, don’t worry too much. Just try to keep your GPA up. Try this again 12 months from now when you have all of your ec’s, sat’s, act’s, and gpa.

It’s amazing how much you’re college choices can change in a year. This time last year, my prospective schools included UCSD, USD, SCU, UCSB, University of Arizona, and ASU, but now I’m not considering any of those schools. I have replaced them with Oregon, Washington, UGA, Texas, Clemson, SDSU, Cal Poly SLO, and Virginia Tech. As a matter of fact, the only colleges that I have considered all throughout HS are UCLA and ND.

SOC,
I know I will change but I plan on at least applying to these UC’s regardless and most would be great

Loncria,
I’m kinda confused about what you said. It almost seems like you said I have a better chance of getting into LA than SB/D which is not true lol.
I think the passion in three words is:
outdoors leadership and history. Also I really like my court volunteering thing. So far its jurying and you can’t be a professional jury member but I think prosecuting/defending will be really interesting/cool too. tangent lol
Anyway, Thanks :)

I said you were on the “right track” for UCLA, and if you continue doing as well, would most likely get admitted. For Davis and UCSB, you’d probably get in no matter what, unless you had another side to your application you didn’t want to tell us about (=.

Ok thanks
Thats what I thought you meant just wanted to double check

back to the EC’s I know i don’t have a “hook” like raising 3 orphans and starting a fortune 500 company  but is there anything else that people have heard of that fits in here? I like public speaking but speech and debate is out since me and the prez have issues plus time conflicts.
I’m doiing an eagle project but thats not too rare these days I asusme

seriously dude you’re like 15? i seriously didn’t even know what all the UC’s were when i was in 10th grade. you’re looking good so far, keep in mind not to overload yourself though cause you might be surprised how easy it is to underestimate the time and energy it takes into doing well when you’re schedule is 5 fricking AP classes. make sure you have time to breathe and actually live a real life. so yeah you’re good for UCB so far, UCLA is probably a target (that school is insanely competitive…i can’t even believe the people they turned down this year. leadership, great EC’s, volunteer work, 4.3 GPA’s, high test scores…) but it’s so unpredictable with that school. stanford is a reach, come on they have a 7% acceptance rate so it’s pretty much a reach for anyone. my friend had a 4.5 cumulative GPA, amazing test scores, was president of NHS, CSF, Key club, and asian awareness club, plus had a resume 3 pgs long of all of the volunteer work and activities she’s been involved with over the years and she was waitlisted by stanford. but she got a full ride to UCLA and got into cornell. so cornell i’m going to guess is a target, but like i said it’s so hard to tell when you’re only in 10th grade. don’t stress yourself out, and don’t get obsessed with AP; it’s insane how tortured people get about making sure they have some acronym in front of as many classes as possible. there’s more to life people!!

16 but yah I could see how it might look. However there are some younger kids with better stuff who want to know about HPY and thats even scarier. I guess part of it is everytime i go into spanish 4 and ap chem I realize that I’m not doing it because of some immense passion in chem or span and neither are the other kids. Yah I have become “that” kid in some respects. im trying to make my activities “me” but if I apply with sucky grades and scores they aren’t going to care about my EC’s
that was my reflection based on your first sentence lol. anyway:

I have the four by four schedule where I only take four classes at a time and then another 4 but I get your point. I’m not Asian but college grades and that stuff is very important to my parents.

And my more normal friends(in regards to not freaking out about college) have been saying lots of the have a life stuff and I’m doing that too I believe.hopefully… lol

Also, the many of the normal classes at my school are kinda jokes. I go to one of the best schools in my county (and this isn’t middle of north dakota no offense to all of you but… :P) its SoCal
Not to be unmodest, but I’m pretty smart and I just know that those classes are easy
(with the exception of Spanish but thats a whole other story) so that why im taking all these AP’s

thanks :)

Just got a 34 on an ACT practice tests nbd :D

lol yeah i live in southern CA too kids here are insane with the competition but there’s kids like that at every school. yeah well don’t feel bad about the not having some burning desire to study chem no one (well hardly anyone) takes AP cause they love the subject, they take them cause they know that college admissions totally eat that **** up. still though dude, you’ve got to know when to take a breather and when to realize when enough is enough and you’ve done all you can do. congratulations on the 34 ACT btw (: trust me you’re in great shape, take advantage of this summer and have a life instead of taking college classes to get ahead (sorry you just seem like the type lol)

Yah i have one month of camp and then eagle project and chillaxing. Nothing college/school related cept for a little act tutoring <1 time/week
