Because of family issues and serious things that happened throughout high school, I wasn’t the greatest candidate for college. I wish to apply as a sophomore transfer to several schools.
HIGH SCHOOL STATS:
Gpa: 2.8 from a top 50 high school, upward trend last four semesters. Finished my last few with each semester around 98 avg.
Ethnicity: Hispanic/African American
Male
ECS: Vars. Lacrosse, Student Gov Chairman, Internship at a big wall st firm, leadership role of a school board, VP of a club, Math Tutor, Published author on a news journal, Secretary of a finance club, and volunteered at homeless shelters.
ACT: 30
5 on the AP Macro exam.
First semester in college will be a 3.63 at a target finance school, but not a top 50 School. Shooting for a high 3 or a 4.0 second semester
ECS: Finance and economics club mentee, business role at a forbes 500 corporation, founder of a club, op-ed writer for school newspaper, and will be a creative program director for a role at the school.
Should I retake my tests? Will colleges look at my second semester?
Is there anything I’m missing? My EC’s look fine, recs probably will be too…
My college list looks like:
Georgetown McDonough
Cornell (Cant decide between ILR, CAS, or AEM)
NYU
UMich
UNC Chapel Hill
Notre Dame
UVA
Vandy
USC
and maybe UPenn CAS
