soph year grades brought me down to 2.7(!) do i still stand a chance? ALL reg schools

So Sophomore year, I had some issues at home that ended up with me getting all C's and 1 D at school. This brought down my GPA ALOT. I brought it up some this year, and my counselor said we can send out my scores from 1st semester of senior year, but I'm still worried. I have a few solid schools on my list, but mostly they are all reaches - I know this. I'm looking to major in Bio, and I don't mind recommendations at all, they are WELCOME! Thank you SO MUCH!!

sorry! i’ve crossposted & copy/pasted once too many times, i’m afraid!
thank you :)

MATCHES: Illinois State, Northern Illinois University, University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth

MAYBE/SLIGHT REACH: Saint Louis University, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Massachusetts at Amherst,

HIGH REACH: Boston University, Loyola University, NYU (they care a lot about SAT/ACT scores and they require 3 subject tests), Penn State, University of Illinois at Urbana

Colleges tend to be very understanding of problems affecting grades. If you have a decent transcript except for that one bad semester, I would say you have a better chance at some of these schools. I would suggest retaking the ACT or taking the SAT and trying to get a 1950 or above. This would improve your chances for a lot more schools. Good luck! :)

Thank you for your advice!
I’m retaking the ACT again the fall and hoping to at least touch 30, if not break it.

Would you happen to know how the Dartmouth campus compares to Amherst? I know Amherst is the best, but taking in account I’d like to major in Biology and break into genetics?
