Sophie Davis 2018 Interview

i have still not received an email yet… I hope Sophie is still giving out interviews! Does anyone know whether they still are or aren’t?

@smartkitt When I went for my interview, they said that they continue till mid-March. Don’t worry if you didn’t get it yet! They give you 4 days advance via email for your interview.

I had my interview yesterday. For anyone that has an upcoming interview, here are some suggestions:

  1. Be yourself and be confident
  2. Be ready to answer questions about yourself. They will ask you to describe yourself. I got questions like what would your parents say about you, what would your friends say about you and are you god gifted or hardworking or a little bit of both.
  3. know about the school and why you want to go there.
  4. know your essays, your community service work, and extracurricular activities by heart
    Good luck to everyone!!

@sophie10000 when I asked one of the students there for how many will be interviewed, they said about 200 or less. From there 30 to 40 percent will get accepted.

They are accepting 70/200 interviewed

How sophie davis send the interview invitation? Via mail or email? My son still waiting. Not sure if he has a chance or not to be eligible for interview.

Hey guys! Are there any specific questions they asked?

Thanks @leah2017
and you too @BDI123 that was really helpful. Do you remember any other questions they asked you, because I am really really nervous…

I am having my interview next week

I had my interview on the 28th of February and all I can say is that as long as you known yourself (which i hope you do!) you’ll be fine! Questions are completely different as different interviews ask different questions. The whole process is more like a conversation where you meet students enrolled at Sophie and connect with the facaulty. I’m not going to tell you to not be nervous, because you should. Sophie is an amazing and prestigious program and if you have 0 stress walking in there, you’ll probably say something stupid. Instead, be both nervous and excited when you walk in there and just be yourself. Best of luck!

What r ur stats?/race

What r ur stats

@FuturePCDoc thanks thats rly good to know, cuz I was thinking before about how I should be when I walk into the room; if I should be confident and smile, if I should try to be “social” with the interviewers and crack a joke or something… or if I should be myself, which is rly nervous, excited, too worried to make jokes, but rly happy to be in the building lol… im just worried that i’d go into the interview not knowing how to answer a certain question, or not being prepared for something (if there rly IS something to prepare for…) I basically just don’t know what to expect. I hope it’s all questions I can answer!

btw does anyone know if you have to bring anything with you for the interview?

You don’t have to bring anything with you! Though I would suggest bringing water and some snacks (though they do have refreshments). Your mouth gets dry in between interviews, which makes it hard to speak, so keep water with you! I walked into each of my interviews knowing 1) why I want to do medicine 2) what influenced me into pursuing medicine 3) what my extracurriculars/volunteering means to me. They will DEFINITELY ask about your hobbies - one first year there told me that during her interview, she talked about her love for netflix. They’ve seen your grades/stats already - they want to know you as a person. Walk in there with a smile on your face and eagerly talk about your life! Go in there willing to learn from the interviewers as well.

Also - question to those who interviewed already. Was the google form you guys had to fill out at the end important? When I was finished with my third interview, there was nobody in the office so I couldn’t fill it out.

The survey just asked if any guidance or teachers encouraged/discouraged you from applying to sophie. You take it anonymously so there’s no way it could have affected your application. You don’t need to worry about it

What are the stats /race of those that got an interview??? Must know if I had a chance at interview -_-

What r ur sat/act scores- r u minorities?

Also- who interviewed u? Must know that names of the interviewers!!!
