What do you think your new SAT will look like? (score-wise)

...and you have become a citizen, right?

...and you have become a citizen, right?

Nope no office positions. If it helps I won the school science fair in 9th Grade and I was the Judge in the fair Junior Year. Plus I voluteered in a medical center (not really a hospital) last summer and two summers ago in a library. As for the SAT, I ensure definate imporvement in math so I say it'll go up to at a 620 and reading can improve to about a 620 as well. So 1240 is the new final score. Citizen, very soon. Our citizenship test is in December and we're gonna ace it.

Hmm...go to the school's website and make sure there isn't a minimun SAT cut off.

well..do u c any disadvantages to Sophie Davis?

Just to make sure- is SD just/only/solely for NY residents????

neha89- Disadvantages? Depends on what your goals are. :) I'd be happy to tell you more if you can be more specific.

md4me- Yes, that's right. You must be a NY state resident to be an eligible candidate at SD.

well..say ur not certain which type of doctor u want to be..becaz im not 100% sure that i want to be a pediatrician..but shld i still apply?

neha89,

SD does not limit you to being a primary care physician. They'll teach you a LOT about how to be a good primary care physician and they'll give you lots of exposure to primary health care practice in the Real World, but it's okay if you decide that it's really not for you. You just have to be fair in your actions, and pay back the city what it had invested in you when it had let you pay the low CCNY tuition, hoping to increase the number of primary care practitioners in underserved areas. I think it's $75,000 or $100,000 now, but it's still quite a bargain for 5 years of college and med school. Why don't you apply to SD first... you still have plenty of time to find out more about the program, and feel free to ask me about anything else you're not sure about, regarding SD. I know the SD application asks for a lot of essays, but they could be used as fodder for your other application essays, too...

yeah, i know its not a lot, its one of my weaknesses

well, shawn your sat makes you a strong candidate, but the lack of med ec's may be lookd down upon

thanks, I'm planning on getting some more clinical experience before i apply

well be careful about that.....it'll be apparent when you do that

The thing is that I've been trying to get into LIJ's voluteering program for a while now, but since so many kids are doing the same thing, its pretty hard to get in. I have a good chance to get into it now that school started. I know it might seem like I doing volunteering just to get into college, but I really need to get clinical experience.

Yeah I know yu need the experience, I'm just saying be wary of that....perhpas build on something yoou're better at instead

hey, Asphen D, are you currently in Sophie Davis?

So how many of you will be at the open house on thursday? I know I will be.

Shawn, I am not at Sophie. My friend's older brother, however, is.

Yeah, I'm coming to the Open House. Does it matter what your attire is? Its not like an interview or anything right?
