Sophie Davis Pgm.

hey congrats everyone. does anyone know how they send out the notifications...i.e. do they send acceptances first and then alternates and rejections..is there a certain pattern? I still didnt hear from SD and i am getting very nervous

another question to those who were accepted, what time did u get the email, afternoon, evening...???

I got rejected. Congratulations to everyone who got accepted.

I haven't received the email yet.

The small envelope kind of gives it away.

i got my notice Thursday night. It was really unexpected since they said they we were getting notified April 1st.

QUESTION: is sophie gonna tell us about dorming or do we have to do it ourselves????????????????????????

worried043, yea i think if anyone and interested in dorming in the towers has to speak to Mr. Robert McDonald; he is Director of Housing and part of Sophie Davis faculty
Towers:http://www.ccnytowers.com/ccny/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6&Itemid=27

Congratulations, everyone!
Try to find an apartment. It would be cheaper than the Towers and maybe even closer to the campus, and of better quality. Yup, Mr. McDonald is the person to talk to. There's also a bulletin board filled with apartment postings, at the entrance to the Sophie student lounge in Harris Hall.

thanks!!!!

sar, do you by any chance know the names of the faculty members on the committee??????

umm, how many students get wait listed? do you know sar? and also what are the chances of the wait listed students??

i got my notification thursday, emailed at 3 pm ish. apparently it's a better idea to get an apartment by sophie rather than dorm there..i've heard several times that the dorms are (of course) smaller than apartments, and they're new, but theyre as expensive as apartments that are just a block away from campus..right on 137th. i'm probably gonna get an apartment by there =)

well az1698 here are my stats

GPA: 96

I took a lot of AP Classes. Calculus, Bio, European History, American History, French, Chemistry, Literature, and Writing

School Clubs/Sports: JV Volleyball (MVP), JV Basketball, Varsity Volleyball (MVP, rookie of the year), Varsity Lacrosse (Captain), Varsity Track

During the summer I did NYLF on Medicine, Summer Health Internships, The Empire States Games (Lacrosse: 2006, 2007), volunteered at local hospital

I think thats about it! Hope this helped you out. My essays and my interview helped me A LOT. My interviewer said my essays were really good. So good luck to you next year if your going to apply!! :)

quick question. In the service commitment packet that we got in the mail - the third page - do we have to sign it in front of the notary? Or do they have to fill out that part??

i have no idea...i know what you're talking about; im confused about the same thing

Usually you have to do it in front of the notary. He/she signs it notarizing (?) that you actually did it in front of them.

that makes sense

Yeah, you should sign it in front of the notary.

I have no idea what goes on in the admissions office.

I'm graduating this year! ^_^
