Sophie Davis Pgm.

I actually received a phone call about Diversity Day this afternoon. I really do plan on attending. For those of you that may have forgotten, it is on April 10th at 11 AM. Wow I am really excited to meet everyone who was accepted. See you all soon!

I haven’t received anything about Diversity Day
what is it exactly?

How many people are on this waiting list?

I received the phone call about the 10th too
I’ll be there :]

Has anyone gone through the program or know if your last 2 or 3 years of the 8 year program are full med school tuition where you perform your rotations?

Does anyone know if the residencies MUST be performed in primary care fields? What if a person decides that primary care isn’t for him/her right after med school and is willing to pay the $75,000. Can he/she pay BEFORE residency so that he/she wouldn’t be stuck doing primary care residency
(kind of hard to explain)

Has anyone heard anything that has to do with the alternates?

@ yolie3000: Students pay CUNY tuition for the first 5 years, and pay the respective medical school’s tuition for rotations.

@ satatam: The way I understood it, if a student decides to deviate from primary care, they pay the fine and specialize in whatever they want after they have received their M.D. There is no requirement for a residency in primary care.

Thank You SlimMan, very helpful.

Can someone tell me the classes for freshman year–

What is the textbook used for Biology and Chem?

^^ I think I know who you are.

Hi–I am his older sister : )

Pls tell me the textbooks for Biology and Chem for freshman year

Thanks in advanced

What goes on throughout the day at the reception? Also, is it formal?

Im having trouble deciding between Sophie Davis and Barnard.
Does anyone have any advice? Pros/Cons?

Both are amazing schools. but in my opinion i’d go for Barnard because of the fact you can take courses at Columbia. Pros for Barnard are having an actual college experience, being in the city (manhattan!) and well being affiliated with Columbia University. Sophie Davis has its own pros, but if you’re willing to give up your college experience and work your but off for the next eight years then go for it.

Do you know how difficult it is to get into Med school–

NYU med schools has 1.6% acceptance rate

My brother got a full scholarship to other ivies but he is going to attend Sophie

hey do you guys know if it is necessary to take the CUNY placement tests if you were rejected or waitlisted from sophie and are not planning to attend city college?

Hey guys, regarding the email that was sent today, do accepted students who were also admitted to Macaulay still have to submit a CUNY app? Because I never did that app, just the Macaulay and the Sophie apps

^^ same question as accepted. i missed my placement test
and i doubt they’ll reschedule but still concerned whether or not this determines my acceptance to SD.

^^ to desichick i saw that you were on the waiting list did you find out that you were accepted?
