Sophmore Grades?

Hello College Confidential users :slight_smile:

I’m aware that a lot of college admission officers like to see an upward trend in grades throughout your high school career. However, I’m currently a sophomore in high school and realized that my grades haven’t improved compared to freshman year. Last year I had pretty much straight A’s but this year I have 3 high B’s(86-88). My school is really competitive and my classes this year are way harder than last year…would this decline ruin my chances for more competitive schools?

i think you are probably okay because if your classes are much harder than last year, then it would make sense for your grades to go down a little bit. your grades are still great though!! id definitely recommend to try your hardest next year because junior year is usually your hardest year and getting great grades that year would show an upward trend to your sophomore grades.
