Is there anything wrong with taking the SAT as a sophmore, if you do poorly will colleges look down on you? Any experiences or recommendations?

Thanks

No, there is nothing wrong with taking the SAT Sophomore year. Actually I think is more benefical to take it 10th grade so that you get familiar with the test. Colleges won't look down on your Sophomore SAT score no matter how abysmal it is as long as they see improvement.

Thanks any other replies?

There's nothing wrong with taking it as a sophomore, but don't do it just to "test the waters." It's a long test that people study a lot for to get a good score.

Study for it until you're consistently getting what you want (or higher) on practice tests, and then take it when you're ready. Aim to take it just once and get a very high score.

I don't understand the mentality on CC of how so many people retake it once, twice, even three times and consider retaking to be the standard practice.

Alright so how much time should I start studying before I take it, would it be enough time between now and December 1?

It's probably not a good idea to take it yet if you don't know how to spell "sophomore."
