I and im sure a lot of other people on this board are applying to schools as sophmores, and I just made this thread so we can talk about stuff related to applying as sophmores. I just feel nervous that I won't make friends as easily if I get in. Do any of you feel like that?

haha we had so many of these during summertime
ugh so many sophomores
makes me mad. why is it always popular when I try to do something LOL

applying for sophomore here...

where is everybody applying to?

westcoast i feel the same wayy and i didnt know that. i'm applying to exeter, andover, choate, lawrenceville and sps what about you?

Taft
Choate
Andover
Loomis
NMH

how does everyone manage their interviews? the schools seem to have very few saturdays open and its tough missing a whole day of school for schools out of state

We did 2 per day when we could. You could easily do Taft and Choate in the same day. And you could - with a little work - do NMH on the same day as Loomis (Andover would be a stretch to do on the same day as NMH).
We scheduled one for around 9 - were out by 11-12. Scheduled the second around 1-2 if possible, depending on how close the schools were. Grabbed a quick lunch in between.
If you do not have school on Veterans Day - try then (although those days go quickly).

We did the same 2 per day when it was viable given the distances the schools were from each other. The schools were very accommodating and even asked us where we were off to next and had pre-printed direction cards to help us on our way. But it's getting late, if you haven't scheduled your interviews yet, get on the phone and do it today.

Interviews set up for:
mercersburg, sgs, nmh, andover, deerfield, hotchkiss, concord
:)
sophmoree

Woot me too, sophomore applying.
We will be the kick-butt new kids on campus :P if we get in.
Exeter, Andover, Choate, and NMH. Interviewing at Choate Nov. 15, Exeter Dec. 5 and Andover Dec. 6.
I have no idea when I'm interviewing at NMH- whenever my mom decides, haha.

ahahah
im doing all of mine in mid december because im traveling from asia during my winter break (except for nmh- im doing my nmh interview here but im going to the december 13th open house)
i would have done more interviews (and not applied) but i simply did not have enough time ):

I'm applying to Exeter, Anne Wright's, and Andover

I've talked to a couple of three-year seniors and I asked them if they felt as though everyone already had friends and if they found it difficult to enter the social scene, but they said it was fine and that all of the other tenth graders were more curious about the new kids than unfriendly.

Hey =]
Sophomore. woot.

OMG SOPHOMORESS EWWWWW
XD

there are a lot this year aren't there =/
for sake of privacy i don't relaly want to mention much but if you think of schools with abot 500 or less then you have my schools (with the exception of choate and hotchkiss)

and they're kinda hard to get into. oooo im mad ):

does anyone else check this forum obsessively? as if it might help our chances of getting in wherever

checking this forum obsessively helps our chances? how may i ask?

I DO!!!! lol

bumbleB, this forum is a great resource. i've learned a lot about different schools. tips for interviews, etc.

I applied as a sophmore last year for a few school. Tip - apply to quite a few schools. I only applied to one and then had to apply late to schools that were not as challenging as I was looking for. Now I am at a good school, (Berkshire) but I am not being challenged as much as I would wish. Good news, as more 2nd years are applying more schools are accepting.

Please dont do what I did, for now I am looking at other schools once again for a more challenging experience, and it is very very hard to get accepted as a 3 year at any school

^
however, do not apply to too many schools-
my mistake last year was applying to too many,
and the essays and applications are all very overwhelming!
6-7 sounds about good :)
