Sophomore Grades.. Important??

well..good junior grades though. if the soph and the freshman year grades switched, you'd have a good chance at schools you wanna go to

do i have a pretty good chance right now??
w/ my other stats

Variance:

it depends on the individual school, of course. Indeed, every school weights differently. But, psychologically an A in honors Jr Eng has more of a wow factor than an A in Frosh honors Eng.

Don't forget, there are lotsa admissions decisions getting made way before the first semester's grades of senior year are even available. For example, our HS doesnt' even have official first semester transcripts until the second week of Feb. The school in your backyard will likely have filled a large portion of its class before the holidays under its rolling policy.

what is the rolling policy?

UNC, Michigan and some other schools have Rolling Admissions, i.e., they batch review apps and send out accpetances during late fall and winter for those kids that apply early, in addition to the tradtional April 1 notification date. In contrast, other schools like the UC's have one app deadline and notify everyone at the same time (late March).

wow that UNC thing is crazy....i'd have a 4.5, at my school i'll prolly have a 3.61... i really like that
