Sophomore in high school needs help.

Hello, I'm starting my sophmore year this fall.I need some help with what I need to get into a good school. My freshman year I had a GPA of 3.7, and no ECs.In the fall I wil taking the only honors class offered, english.I really have no idea what I need.No one has ever spoke to me about it.Thanks to any who help me out!

Also sorry if this is in the wrong section, please tell me where to post and I'll move it asap.

Edit:Also next year I plan on joing the beta club, national honors society, and scholars bowl.

get A’s… do sports… get involved outside of school
as a sophmore that’s all you need to do right now really.

Definitely pursue some interests that you’re passionate about. Keep those grades up and that’s about it for sophomore year.

Continue taking challenging courses, continue getting good grades, and yes find a couple of ECs you really enjoy and do those (because your enthusiasm will shine through when it comes application time). Also, take the PSAT this year if at all possible. It’s good prep for “the real thing” next year when you’re a Junior.

Read the forums here. Visit a couple of good colleges. Do sports, arts, or something uniquely you. Choose friends who are thinking about college and their futures. Have Fun…

You might find it useful to go to the websites of a few schools that you are considering. Look at the freshman class profiles. Download a copy of the applications and think about how you would fill them out.
