Sophomore On-Campus Housing/Rush

Hey guys. I was given guaranteed sophomore admission my senior year of high school (interesting life story, low GPA, but high test scores and essay explaining that fact), and have maintained far above the GPA they asked in my admissions guarantee. Because of that, I'll be starting as a sophomore next year! However, because I've had to spend this year at community college, I've missed the freshman dorm experience. I was wondering if there were any dorms sophomores could stay in where I could in essence recreate that. Is it hard to get on campus housing as a sophomore? Which sophomore dorms are interesting and comparable to New/North and Birnkrant? I have a counselor that was assigned to me but he says that I won't be allowed to apply for housing until my spring grades are finalized at the end of May, so I'm understandably worried about housing. I have a 3.9 currently and straight A's, and my admissions guarantee required at least a 3.3, but he says that he can't help me until the end of this semester.

Edit: Also, I was wondering about whether or not being a sophomore would dampen my chances in the rush process. There are a lot of spring admits as well, so is this a non-issue?

As a transfer sophomore who rushed and is now very happy with his situation in a fraternity, you will be fine. Some fraternities won’t like how you are a transfer/not a freshmen, but others won’t really care. And once you go Greek it’ll fix all your other worries about meeting other people. Just remember to talk to all the fraternities at rush, and make sure to choose the right fit!
