Hey I am a sophomore and I need advice on what I should do to get out of this problem concerning my courses and grades in those courses

my classes freshman year were;

English 1 Honors
Biology 1 Honors
Algebra 2 Honors
Latin 1
Introduction to Technology
AP Human Geography
Drama 1

This year:

English 2 Honors
Chemistry Honors
Pre-Calc
Latin 2
HOPE
AP World History
AP Art History

I passed all of them except Algebra 2. My final grade in Algebra 2 was an F. Honestly I hadn't applied myself early enough and now I am stuck in a big hole. I took Algebra 2 summer school to be eligible for Pre-Calculus but it was only a two week computer program class. I am in the 2nd quarter of my sophomore year doing well in all of my classes last quarter except Pre-Calc (D). I took my first test of the 2nd quarter recently in Pre-Calc and failed that. Every test I take I study and feel like I am going to pass them but they end up disappointing me. I honestly give up and need advice on what to do concerning my path in math. Math stresses me out more than anything. What should I do? Thank you.

Honestly I think you should not be in pre-calc right now. See if you can transfer back down to algebra 2. People tend to forget that math classes build on each other and as you begin to pursue upper level math you will struggle if you did not grasp concepts earlier on. No offense but you are simply not ready for pre-calc.

No problem, the truth is the truth. If I do decide to transfer down, how would this look on my transcript? I will consider it for now, thank you very much for the advice!

Don’t worry about how it’ll look on your transcript. Right now you have 1 F and will likely receive another in precalc. If you don’t move down, you’re setting yourself up for failure.

Otherwise, if you have 20-30 hours free to study, check out khan academy. It has great math explanations as well as problems to practice.

I will talk to my dad about moving down soon. I have been denying the truth now it is time to accept my mistakes and get back on the right path. Thank you guys for the advice.

I was going to offer the same advice, but everyone beat me to it. Kudos for realizing the problem and I really hope everything works out for you.
