I am currently at an out of state university. Can i transfer to a CCC for my junior year and then transfer to UCI or UCLA (maybe usc) for my senior year?Or do they only accept transfer students for junior year?

The UC’s only take junior transfers

do you think i could go to a CCC and repeat sophomore year? And then transfer as a junior? Im only 18 as a sophomore so i think i could repeat another year. The reason im worried about not getting accepted as a transfer this year is because i think being out of state at a school with a semester system will mean that my credits probably wont go through.

I would call admissions at one of the UC’s to find out. I don’t think transferring from a semester to a quarter system is a problem in itself, but there may be other requirements that I don’t know about. It would really be better to call directly.

I think you can enroll as a junior, but you ought to verify it with an admissions office at a UC. **If you have not taken any upper-division classes ** then according to the chart at <a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors; there is no cap on the number of units you can earn before you apply to a UC. They will only give you credit towards UC graduation for 70 units, so you will start at the UC as a junior.

Are you a CA resident? If not, then I would not advise attending a UC.

You will be paying full fees at the CC as well as at the UC’s. Being your age, you won’t be able to establish residency requirements until age 24 so you will pay full fees. (uc’s=50k tuition not including room and board).
