Okay, so in short I really messed up my sophomore year of high school. My first semester I did my usual a 3.6 gpa but then second semester came around and I totally bit the dust. I'll be lucky to get my report card in July with a 2.8 gpa.

How bad will this look on my transcripts in the future and when I get my act together next year can I turn this fail around in the eyes of colleges?

What do you honestly expect in making this post? Make no mistake, it will look terrible on your transcripts, and your only option is to do your best, but you cannot just “turn this fail around,” as if there’s something you could say that every other sophomore who got a C couldn’t.

If there were circumstances which were out of your hands that genuinely account for the drop, then you already know about them, and should be getting information together to substantiate your claims when you write to schools about this.

Good luck with admissions.
