I am planning on transferring to Barnard at the end of my freshman year of college. Barnard is my dream school, and I applied early decision but did not get in. I am a little uncertain about credits. I plan on transferring from a very large institution which is not a liberal arts school like Barnard, and it is hard to find courses that will transfer over. I was wondering, does the amount of credits that will transfer over affect my chance of admissions at all? For example, if I have a total of 21 credits instead of 24, would I not be admitted that year, or would I be admitted as a first-year student? I cannot find any information on this on the Barnard website, so would appreciate any help from someone who has done what I plan on doing. Thanks!
Hi! I am transferring to Barnard, I’ll be entering this Fall! I was in the same situation as you last year, and I was totally freaking out about credit transfer, but so far it’s worked in my favor! I transferred from a large public university, and my advice to you is to take classes that have equivalencies at most schools (ex: Bio “101,” intro to psych, etc.) Good luck, and I hope everything works out!
Hi jwagstransfer! I was wondering if you got your acceptance through the waitlist… I was waitlisted as a transfer applicant for the upcoming fall semester but haven’t heard back yet. I’m not sure what to do or if anyone else is in my situation. Thanks!!
hi there, I am an international transfer applicant from a top university in China. I just want to ask you, that about how many transfer students(this year barnard) are applicants from other countries?
