Sorry about this..

I know that this has been asked many times before, but I really need some knowledge about this problem.

I have an ACT proportionally much higher than my SAT I score (which is extremely low - 2040). If I don't self report my SAT scores and only submit SAT IIs and ACT's, will the SAT I still reported along with my SAT II's hurt my application?

Thanks..

don't beat yourself up just because it's CC...2040 is not "extremely low". submit both. what was your math SAT I? if that was on the low side for caltech applicants (say <= 730? i don't really know), you might want to retake just to bring that up.

at any rate, it seems like you don't have a choice in terms of withholding your SAT I. take it for what its worth though, i'm not involved with admissions at all.

If you can do well on a test, then you deserve the score. (the chances of doing well from randomized guessing are obviously extremely low, so a high score can easily be attributed to the test taker) Sometimes, for various reasons, people do "badly" on a test, so that score(s) may not reflect their true ability. From what I've gathered after reading more brochures and other junk than I would have cared to, it appears many universities operate under this idea. I could be wrong, but I don't think you would be hurt by the "low" score.
