<p>Ive applied to Pton ED and I'm International. (fat chance yea..)</p>
<p>SAT I: 1520 (V730 M790) - first attempt
SAT II: Math IIC, Physics, Chemistry all 800's..........Japanese 650...screwed up listening...
AP: Physics C Mechanics, C E/M, Chemistry all 5's (had to go overseas to take them...)
Rank: 1/500 (it's THE largest school in the country and one of the most recognised) and first in all my subjects except for english
Curriculum: THE hardest with all subjects at...um...scholarship level....AP/Honors if you prefer</p>

<p>I have nothing to boast like many of you (except my ranking maybe..) but yea...I'm waiting for the decision in a couple of wks and I just can't stop feeling pathetic about myself. I just thought I'd post my stats and see what you guys think so I can either feel better or just give up on any hope thats still lingering around me...IMO, my 'numbers' are 'alright' but I have nothing special that will make me stand out...esp for an international.</p>

<p>um...about 4 1% prizes counting all the years and the competitions are like....nothing like USAMO or anything. they are just nationwide competitions with no special recognition etc. so nothing special i guess. even more so when i have no xxx-th placing prizes..</p>
<p>sorry i cannot disclose my country hehe but it's an english speaking country (i'm asian (immigrant) though). its a small country where only 1-2 people apply to Pton every year. i only know one other person applying to ED this year (shes better than me in MANY ways though...both numbers+EC's...my chance going for a deep dive)</p>

<p>Good luck welwelwel!! I was starting to think I was the only NZer applyin ED, (BTW eric decided to apply RD). And no I am NOT better than u at all!! U hav way better SATS (lol a 670 on critical reading over here). And bein ranked 1 out of 500... slightly more impressive than gettin 1st out of 30 (man it sux comin from little old Timaru hehe)</p>
<p>So what school do u go to anyway? Macleans? (I cant remember if that is the biggest school or not lol).</p>
<p>Oh yeh and I think it was the whole ' at scholarship level' thing that gave it away ... I mean wat other country has such a confusing exam system</p>

<p>sorry i was kinda stalking you (Eve) and eric on this forum before. i was soooooooooo freaked out to find eric was going for Pton (i heard about his genius from this guy who is a 'friend' of his who came to Genesis Forum) then he mentioned YOU and i looked at your stats and OMG! ANOTHER IMO person! n heaps of regional national stuff...</p>
<p>anyway it's so good to have some1 who can actually share the pain of living in NZ waiting for the decision! (NZ is one day AHEAD of USA!! one more day of waiting!)</p>

<p>o yea btw, i was wondering if you experienced the same thing as me eve...when you asked you teachers/principal for ref's did they have this weird expression on their faces? like...'what the hell are you going over to the states for? you traitor!' and plus, didn't have any idea as to how to write such ref's?</p>

<p>to Jay01: my essays? hm...the long one was the historical event (Asian Financial Crisis) and short ones were the quotation and curiosity. i had a random einstein quote for the quotation and a REALLY random essay on reality and imagination for curiosity. i really do not think they were any good. where are YOU from Jay01? how do you know eric?</p>
<p>btw, wat other schools are you applying to in RD? (in the unfortunate case of deferral/rejection...im not jinxing you!) It really sucks that the school closes on 13th when the decision comes out waaaay after that. i have to apply before i get notified so my teachers can send their things in before the school closes.......how shizzle is that?? some1 tel me! esp when my exams finish on 10th! and stupid (NOT) stanford's due date is 15th!arggghhh!!</p>
<p>yeh it sux about school closing just before ED decision is out aye - I have seriuosly spent a fortune on stamps alone for references!! I'll probly apply to Harvard, Yale, MIT, Cornell, Univ Chicago, and maybe williams and duke. No safeties I know, but I'm not to worried if I don't get in any where - I've pretty much got a full ride at Auck uni so I be happy going there. Where else r u applying to?</p>
<p>Yeh I know wat u mean about references aye, like none of my teachers/school really knew what to write. But our IMO team leader sent in the supplementary reference so I'm hoping he wrote stuff thats relevant.</p>
