sorry in advance.

i'm sorry this is horrible, but i'm bored, new to cc (kinda... i've been lurking for an alarmingly long time now), and freaking out over college stuff. if you take a moment to chance me, i will buy you a puppy. or two.

sat II: us hist:690/math II:690/french:670 (i'm retarded for taking these.. i didn't know people actually prepared for them.) let's just pretend like they never happened.

anyone else super-nervous for late march?

how is 5.0 gpa possible...? explain?
according to the stats you provided, i would have to say you have a really good shot

"how is 5.0 gpa possible"

-With class weighting....

at my school, we are granted .25 "extra" per year if we take all honors and APs that year and receive all A's. Since this is my fourth year and I've taken all honrs and APs throughout high school and gotten all A's (so far!) I will hopefully graduate with a 5.0. So technically, I have a 4.875 (after semester 1) and if I get all A's second semester I will have a 5.0. my school's kinda weird.

thanks for the feedback though!

Honestly do you really think you don't have a good shot? #1 in class, 34, 2150.

From Princeton Review:

Average SAT: 1401
ACT Composite Range (25-75%): 29-33
Average ACT: 31

Your SAT is above the average, ACT above the average, and your rank is perfect. If you don't have a good chance then who does?? These chances threads are becoming quite ridiculous.

i think you have a good shot at getting in

dcb: i agree with you on the fact that the threads are ridiculous, however for different reasons. Admissions are often just hit or miss. I mean i remember last year i was in the MIT forum, and a kid applied EA. He had been published in multiple scientific journals for building a nuclear reactor in his basement. Yet he was deferred to regular (i don't know if he ultimately got in).

I guess what im' trying to say is that even if the overwhelming consensus is that you will get in, there's always the off chance that you won't

Wow great stats! It seems like you have a really good shot! But, as everyone has said, and as you probably already know, with any of the top schools in the U.S. there is no guarantee for getting in. You seem like a top canidate. Write a great essay, and get good teacher recs. Good luck!

thanks for all the posts guys, and i'm sorry--i'm not trying to be obnoxious, it's just that i got flat out rejected from stanford scea and am REALLY scared. plus, i kinda didn't read the word limit too carefully on the nu essays--the 50 worders? yup, i wrote about 100 if i recall correctly. i've spent the last month agonizing about my incredible stupidity and probably will continue to for the next couple... any ideas on how we can make time pass more quickly?!

don't worry about it. a lot of top candidates at my school were rejected scea from stanford, and they defer only a few. All in can suggest is to revel in the fact that apps are done and that you just need to keep cruisin and you should be all good =)

You have an excellent chance;just make sure to apply to other schools because anything can happen this year. 2007 grads may be the peak year for college applicants according to a demographic study that I read about.

thanks thanks thanks to all of you for taking a minute! good luck to everyone, hope we all end up where we want to be!
