Ok, so going into the college application process, I didn’t really know much of anything about any of the schools I applied to aside from the fact that they were all really great schools. I didn’t have the opportunity to travel around to visit any of them, so I kind of just went in blind without any sort of “dream school” and not really expecting much out of admissions.
Turns out, I got into Harvard, Stanford, Yale, MIT, UMich, Duke, Northwestern (and elsewhere that I’ve already ruled out), so now I don’t really know what school to pick. Financially, all of the options are around the same, give or take a few thousand, so it’s not really a factor in my decision. I’m not exactly sure what I’ll be majoring in but definitely something STEM. I heard that Yale doesn’t have as strong of a STEM program compared to the other schools but any more information/advice would be greatly appreciated.
I just recently went to MIT’s Campus Preview Weekend and didn’t really like it there. (Not to diss them. It’s a great school, just not for me.) I also toured UMich’s campus and really liked it there. As of now, I’m leaning towards UMich and Stanford because I have family in both areas, and I have siblings at each school. I know fit and the general vibe on campus are a big part of decisions, so I’m planning on going to Harvard, Yale, and Stanford’s prospective student days next week (really cutting it close to decision day lol).
So long story short, decision day is coming up fast and I don’t know where I’m going or what I’m doing next year and I could really use some advice/info/thoughts/others’ experiences with these colleges. Thanks!!
