Does anyone know how large the community is?

Also, how is the political science program at Haverford? If I'm interested in politics, would it be a mistake to go there over university of michigan?

Unfortunately, I have a presentation, a paper and a grant to submit this week... so I can't go into too much depth with you question for the moment.

1) As HC's enrollment is 1150-1190, the entire community is small. There will probably be 3-4 people fitting your demographic per class (South Asian AND Muslim... plenty of S.A... but not "AND" Muslim). My best friend from HC is actually Guyanese (S.A. and Muslim)... after HC, he won a Wallenberg Fellowship to study children in war zones... mostly in Palestine, but also traveled to Kashmir, Kosovo, ect... and started a group called "International Youth Connect" for children to bear witness to atrocities to an international stage, is on a 1st name basis with Jane Goodall (who he introduced me to at a NYC function) and also he with some of his fellowship buddies attended the Nobel Ceremonies in Sweden as observers and... I'm rambling now... If you attend HC and want his contact info, let me know as he is a HUGE "Haver-fan"... I mean, embarassingly so...

2) Remember that BMC is next door so both the S.A./Muslim community and also academic resources are expanded.

3) UMich is OK, too. I'm assuming you were accepted into the honor program? Please remember that it isn't just the breadth of courses but also the depth as well. Although HC, or any LAC for that matter, can't compete with UMich in terms of course selection, for many people, the quality of learning is higher at LACs. Small seminars and demanding professors who know your name... although you may graduate with less "fact knowledge", I think you really become a better analytical thinker and writer by attending a LAC such as HC and will be well prepared to compete with the best from any college.

Please check out the poli sci and the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship links on the HC page to get an idea of what profs and students are up to in terms of research projects and opportunities. If you work hard at both schools, you'll do fine in life. I'd rather encourage you to think about the next 4 years and ask yourself where you would be most happiest?

To clarify, the organization my friend founded is

"global youth connect"

Did you also notice the other Poli Sci grad highlighted in the newsletter? It seems that you can do almost anything with such a HC degree... law, policy, academics... or be one of People's sexiest men?
