I am a new transfer student at Cornell who just got the housing assignment in South Baker. According to some friends of mine, South Baker AKA the Gothics looked pretty from the outside but the inside is kinda crappy. Anyone can give more details about the South Baker. Thanks!

im in it too, 2nd floor

I am at 3rd floor and there is no elevator… Move in day is gonna be a crazy day…

Question… did you list a single as your #1 preference?

ha dont worry, move in day isnt crazy because this is west and upperclassmen come on a series of dates. we shud chill if ur going to be in my dorm. gothics are ehh but at least on west

Yes, unfortunately, I got the double room housing assignment…

^Thats what I suspected. Although I’d slightly prefer a single, I listed double as my preference to try to get into a better building and I got a Becker double.

Now I just hope my roommate is cool.

Are any of you looking for a room trade? If you want to be in one of the new buildings, i have a female double in Rose main. It’s on the ground floor and is a decent sized room. Trading rooms is easy. You just have to call the housing office and then confirm the trade in an email.

The only reason I want to trade is because i’d prefer a single this year. And at this point, that’s the most important factor since I’m living off campus next year.

Yes, pretty from the outside, but the inside isn’t exactly crappy. Crappy in some ways, but there are a lot of perks (search the forums).
