Trying to find schools closer to home with biomedical engineering programs. ABET accreditation a plus. Also offers a good computer science program. Freedom to take electives of own choice in other departments to fulfill degree requirements.

Depending on how strong your profile is: Duke, GT, UNC, U Alabama at Birmingham, etc.

What sort of “south” do you mean? Might want to look at Rice.

the University of Tennessee

Just to let you know, Clemson does not have an accredited ABET program in bioengineering, I just found that out today by checking the ABET program. You might want to contact their department to find out if an ABET accreditation is coming or not.

Oh, aibarr, if only. Been wanting him to go to Rice since before he was born. Long story.

MSState-are you from Mississippi State? Do you know anything about their program?

UAB is on the list, hoping to visit soon. Heard great things about their graduate program, but don’t know anything about the undergraduate school, campus life.

Thanks for the ABET accreditation info, Pierre. Didn’t know that. They are on the Whittaker list, so I assumed they were accredited. Will check into that.

Also, looking for schools that offer a BSE, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, rather than BS in Engineering. What is the difference, and how important is that when looking for jobs?

Thanks for the info, guys. Keep it coming!

Montegut, there is no difference between a BSE and a BS in engineering, a BSE is just a fancy name for the same degree
