Please share your experiences/advice about the SPACE learning community for freshmen. Will be in Forbes Hall next year. Helpful for studying? Impact on meeting people/building social life?

I lived on SPACE and it was great! A lot of people hesistate to do SPACE because they don’t want to be with the “nerds” but that isn’t the case at all.

All the engineers have the same classes freshmen year, meaning we all have tests around the same time and similar homework. This make it great around test time because everyone is quiet on the floor. Also, your peers are great resources when it come to classes. In terms of studying, it is the best fit because everyone is in the same boat!

You get to creat great relationships with your classmates, which will be key through the rest of your 4 years at Pitt. To get through engineering, you need friends to help you out along the way (for moral support and your projects). This isn’t to say it’s not good to have friends outside of engineering, but at the end of the day, the people I met on SPACE are still my best friends to this day!
