This may be a dumb question but I couldn’t find this info anywhere online, is Spanish 110 at Georgetown 1 or 2 semesters? I’m a little confused because it says it’s 6 credits rather than the usual 3 making me think it spans over 2 semesters, but it also says in the course description something about “daily contact” with the language making me think it meets for 1 semester just more often than other classes. Could someone help me out and let me know if it is 1 or 2 semesters and how often the class meets?
Based on https://spanport.georgetown.edu/study/quitoprogram/academics/course-descriptions/# , it looks like a one semester course covering the material that is otherwise found in two semesters. Hence, you should expect it to be twice the class time and work to go along with it giving twice the credit of other one semester courses.
Based on https://myaccess.georgetown.edu/pls/bninbp/bwckgens.p_proc_term_date?p_term=202030&p_calling_proc=bwckschd.p_disp_dyn_sched , Spanish 110 meets 5 times per week for 60 minutes each (300 minutes per week), while Spanish 101 and 102 (the two courses it covers the material of meet 3 times per week for 50 minutes (150 minutes per week).
thank you so much! @ucbalumnus
