Spanish 4 or Chemistry Senior Year?

This is my senior year and I plan to go to U of Mich for pre-med. I have AP Calc BC, AP Physics, and AP Psych this year and Spanish 4 is basically AP at my school. I will have all hard classes for the rest of the year after this trimester. I could potentially go under 3.0 unweighted.

Could I switch from Spanish to chemistry for the last two trimesters? I will be taking a lot of chem in college and have barely taken any in high school. I won't be taking any Spanish in college and have been taking it since 7th grade and only getting As.

Would this look bad on my application to stop taking it even though I'm only required 2 years? Very few people from my school even go to 4 because it's so hard. (I've technically taken 4 years but repeated 1 from middle school so I'm on 3) Would they understand that I want to take more science courses to actually prepare me for college? Thanks

Michigan only requires 2 years of a foreign language. You really couldn’t look that up for yourself?

Anyway, take chemistry. It will be a lot more useful for your major.

Ok thanks. I did look it up and I meant I had my two year requirement for UM. I’ve just heard they like you to go all four classes because it shows you’re “committed” or something.

They aren’t trying to trick you. If they wanted four years, they’d say so. Doing 3 years already exceeds the requirements so 4 would be overkill, especially when you could be taking a really useful class for pre-med like chem.
