Just today I was told that in May I am being inducted to the Spanish Honor Society. Our chapter just started this year and that's why I didn't know earlier. Is this something I should notify colleges of? I know it's not a huge deal, so I wasn't sure.

Wait, you're being inducted into the group in May, yet you're graduating in June? The point of the organization is to tutor kids who are having trouble, and I'm not sure how much teaching you're going to do in two weeks.

What is the point of joining?

The chapter just started this year. We didn't have one until now. That's why all the kids in AP Spanish are being inducted now. I wasn't even aware that the point of the organization is to tutor kids to be honest.

I'm in the group, and it's essentially just a nice tool to pad the resume. I can't see how you'd possible benefit from joining the group in May as you probably won't even get to participate in the time wasting tutoring/outside of school activities.

Some chapters offer tutoring, and others don't. In some places it is just an "Honor" that you can put on your records.

If you are planning on a Spanish major or minor, it might be worth sending a note to your college(s) saying that your HS chapter has just received approval and that you will be inducted this year.
