Spanish Major

So, I’m planning on pursuing a Spanish degree in college. I want to show colleges that I have a deep interest in this subject, but I don’t know what extracurricular activities could show this. Does anyone know of any activites I can do as high school student?

If your school has a Spanish club, you should join that…also I’d say just take as much Spanish in school as possible.

My D went out of her way to help a transfer student from Mexico adjust during her senior year (they became good friends) and the Spanish dept. considered it mentoring.
You could work in an ESL
Camp (or volunteer tutor) during summers or after school. My D was a teacher’s aide her senior year for independent study. We also hosted a student from Spain for 3 weeks.

I assume you’re taking the national Spanish exam annually: they offer college scholarships for freshmen (only 1 candidate per school is allowed to enter) and summer language institutes for juniors.
