Spanish music

Does anyone have any favorite Spanish music? After four years I'm finally starting to enjoy learning the language.... ;) The farthest the Spanish music on my iPod goes is Shakira and David Bisbal. Haha. Help?

JUANES . . .. La Camisa Negra, you'll like it, much better than shakira

There is a user on here who is puerto rican, she's really good in this dept

Coqui is her name! But she hasn't been on since Jan . .

There is a Spanish "MTV" that will expose you to a lot of good recent spanish music, in terms of what is popular in those latina countries

Awesome, thanks -- downloading the Juanes CD right now from itunes....without consent....AHHH my parents should've never allowed the 'free access' to songs or whatever. I'll just say it's an educational tool? And I'll check out the Spanish MTV as well, thanks!

I believe I'm the only Mexican in da House.

spanish music...hmm let me see: tierra santa, mago de oz, enanitos verdes, cafe tacuba, el canto del loco, laley, man

i love JUANES (A Dios Le Pido rox my sox) I also love Luis Fonsi and a lot of others. my ipod is filled with spanish music.

Im also a Juanes fan. I have Un Dia Normal and Mi Sangre!!! I also like Shakira but her Spanish albums more than her english stuff. Celia Cruz,(love love, LOVE her!!!!!) Elvis Crespo. Im really into salsa which I recommend Marc Anthonys salsa stuff before he crossed over!!!! Does anyone really like Reggaetone? Im not a big fan but people seem to like it. Stuff like Daddy Yankee?

I forgot Alejandro Sanz. The duet he did with Shakira I must admit was hot!

about 80% of my ipod is filled with spanish music...it's mainly mainstream, tho..
-juanes..un dia normal is definitely his best record..i second a dios le pido..and mala gente is a big fav too..
-david bisbal..i sometimes like to listen to it (buleria, oye el boom, camina y ven) ..but it's pretty corny on the whole..exactly the same with chayanne..
- molotov...really funny songs..their first album donde jugaran las ninyas is the greatest..and their third one is pretty good too..
-orishas..another great band..a lo cubano is a great record..favs barrio, 537 c.u.b.a.
-shakira..i've never liked her english songs..but some of her older spanish ones are pretty good...definite favs ojos asi, inevitable, ciega sordomuda, si te vas..
-ricky martin..his older stuff...a medio vivir and vuelve are really good records..
-daddy yankee..well, his ok..favs..tu principe, no me dejes solo
-control machete feat ely guerra...i used to like de perros amores a lot
-some random songs by la ley and la oreja de van gogh are are pretty good too..
-thalia, paulina rubio, diego torres, enrique iglesias...not my taste
-mana, alejandro sanz are definitely classics..but i don't really like their music..although the song alejandro sanz did with shakira..was kinda cool..

"but it's pretty corny on the whole" hahaha I'm so glad to hear that (about David Bisbal). We listen to his stuff in Spanish class and I downloaded a CD of his and I like it but it's not my favorite.... downloaded Juanes though--much better!

to be continued...
anyhow..if i had to make a top 3 in random order it would be: ricky martin (pre-livin la vida loca stuff), orishas (the 1st and the 3rd album), molotov (again the 1st and the 3rd album)..

i like daddy yankee and reggaetone, i can shake my a.s.s. to that stuff... oh, and i love "Si Tu Te Vas" by Ricky Martin (i feel like such a girl writing that)...

reggaeton in general, IMO, sucks....its is probably one of the worst genres I have ever heard.. Come on, when you hear that the main repetitive lyrical phrase in songs is "vamos a culear", thats a pretty decent clue that that song sucks. I prefer techno for dancing music... but I must say it is awesome to say the way girls dance to reggae ton ;)

I listen to flamenco guitar occasionally, but not much else. Paco de Lucia, Sabicas, etc.

Flamenco music is interesting.

dude download that Latin Coffee Lounge 2 CD Set.

IT IS AMAZING

I have a favorite Spanish song! I have no clue what the name is, who sings it, or even what it sounds like anymore, but...

Once upon a time, a kid brought in a Spanish rap song to have our Spanish teacher translate it... it pretty much said
"I'm bad. I can do whatever I want. I can walk on the beach. I can go in the sand." Or something along those lines, it may have mentioned icrecream. It was hilarious, the voice sounded all ghetto too.

Wisen y Yandel are pretty good.

I hear a lot of it at my school but I have no idea what it is...I like it.
