does anybody know the highest amount of points you can get on this placement test? I just took mine and I want to get an idea from my score of what level I might be placed in.

My D said that the highest score is 900. Your placement depends on both the written and the oral exam that you take at the University.

The highest score isn’t a 900: I scored a 919 on the placement exam.

However, the highest score doesn’t really matter: as long as you score between 500-600, you have hit Pitt’s “ceiling” for placement. Within that range, you will most likely be placed in either Spanish Conversation or Grammar and Composition. Above that score, it doesn’t really matter what you get.

Like the previous poster mentioned, though, your placement also depends on how the interview goes. If you are great at reading and vocabulary but lack the verbal skills needed, you can be put in a lower level.
