Has anyone taken the placement test, and if so, what should i expect? How can I prepare? (I took up through Spanish 3H my sophomore year) How much credit do most people receive from the test? I would really like to be exempt from as much Spanish as possible :[

They didn’t tell us this at orientation. In fact, they didn’t tell us much of anything.

Same here. I had 3 years of Spanish in HS and thought I was good to go. But, noooo. Now I find out, after Orientation, that that doesn’t cut it. One web page says I don’t need it and another is vague and after playing phone tag no one at UT could tell me for certain. So, do I have to take the placement test to get credit and will that exempt me from some of the foreign language requirements?

I spoke with the testing center and they said your score determines how much credit you might get. They wouldn’t give me specific scores though. You will have to write a 200 word essay.

This helped me tremendously:

Unfortunately though, the webpage still doesn’t tell you what exact score you need.

Hell I was in Spanish 5 and I’m nervous! My orientation isn’t till July 12, so maybe I can still cram in some studying lol.
