As I was looking through all the schools on my common app, I realized that Pomona, one of my top choices, requires all SAT Scores. I didnt take the SAT - I got a 34 on ACT. However, I did take subject tests and I screwed up in nearly all of them. I got a 690 Math and 650 chem, however I am taking Math again tomorrow and plan to do much better. I got a 730 on history so i plan to send that. However, the dagger is I got a 490 on Spanish. Yep, thats 9th percentile. I forgot to cancel my score after I did it, so how badly will it hurt me in my admission to Pomona?
bumpp
SAT subject tests are completely optional. You do not need to send any of your scores if you do not wish to.
^ Unless the school requires all scores.
Some schools want all SAT or all ACT, however. Check out if Pomona is like that or if they really want everything from both tests.
While true, this applies to a very small number of colleges. Additionally, even if a college requires all SAT scores, they may not require all Subject Test scores. You can read this thread, but as @bodangles says, you should confirm with your targeted schools.
@skieurope I tried clicking on the link but nothing came up. How would I be able to tell if a school requires all SAT Scores but not all subject tests vs requiring all SAT and all subject tests? Based on this website:
It just says Pomona requires all SAT, but I cant find anywhere if this means sat and sat subject tests or just sat.
Maybe you could call them tomorrow and ask? Straight from the horse’s mouth.
This is from the Pomona admissions website: “SAT Subject Test scores are optional.”
Link fixed.
