This is an unusual question, but has anyones son or daughter ever received a speeding ticket on the New York Thruway? I was wondering, what is the best/cheapest way to deal with it. Do you plead guilty and pay the fine, or do you go to court and try to get the ticket reduced?

My dad was a professional driver in NY and his piece of advice is to NEVER plead guilty and to always fight it. The reasoning has to do with the license point system. If your child pleads guilty the state will automatically deduct the points from their license while fighting it could lead to a reduced fine AND no point deduction.

I don’t know what your child got the ticket for or the circumstances regarding it so take my advice with a grain of salt.

thanks, so I may need a lawyer to fight the speeding ticket…if ANYONE knows a local traffic lawyer, please private message me. Thanks
