Spelling error makes me very nervous

Yesterday, I checked my application(already submitted) and found a spelling error…

foreigneer—foreigner…

I don’ think the AOs will find that error when they read my application… I know it is ridiculous to reject people because of such insignificant error.

But I am still very nervous. Do I need to make changes? If so, how?

Thank you very much for your advice.

I wud forgettabout it. Reely.

haha oh violaina, i think you'll be okay.
i'm sure all of your other wonderful qualities will distract them from that one little spelling error :)

but really, i wouldn't worry about it-- i read an essay in a book of college essays where they have AOs comment on them after, and they pointed out that the writer made a couple of spelling mistakes he shouldn't have, but it didn't matter because it was a pretty good essay. coincidentally, it said that his college was brown (!) besides, you can't make changes to the common app after you send it, unless you want to make an alternate version.

Thank you very much for your advice; I am less nervous now.

I cannot make an alternate version because I applied Brown in ED..

Anyway, I will try to forget that mistake..

that's good. i'm glad i could help!

i know, i applied ED too, but i meant if you want to make an alternate version to send to other colleges RD. like if the mistake is in the actual application and you want to fix it-- not for brown, but for another school-- you can make an alternate version and edit it there.

I read an article that said that some admissions officers like seeing one small mistake because it makes them feel that they are reading a real persons application, not just some robot-freaks haha :)
Seriously: DONT WORRY ABOUT IT.

I feel better now. Thank you very much..

Don't worry about it at all! My D is a second year at Brown (RD) and also made an error in her application, but this was a small grammatical one (worse, in the rate-the-error department, perhaps :) ) and she was still admitted!

I have a vague recollection as well that my D's essay for Brown had one typo/spelling error as well and she recently graduated from Brown. Don't sweat the small stuff. :)
