I spilled water on my laptop and as a result will need to take it up to the mac store for repair. Does anyone know about, how much it would cost to repair? I've heard, they charge you $100 just to see what's wrong with the computer.

It depends on what your problem is. Spilling water on a laptop often means death as the entire inner workings are directly below the keyboard and something can easily short out. Often you're alright if you just turn off the laptop as soon as possible and then let it dry out for at least a week. However, if your laptop stopped working immediately and you were not able to turn it back on, you could very well be screwed.

If I'm not mistaken, you have a warranty included with the purchase for up to a year. I've heard that Apple is quite forgiving for these sorts of things provided you're still under warranty. If your warranty is expired and you didn't buy additional coverage, you might just have to buy a new machine.

I spilled water on my MacBook and it died pretty much instantaneously. My warranty was expired and I hadn't bought the extension, but I was lucky enough that my insurance paid for a new one. "Water damage." Nothing liquid gets within three feet of any of my computers anymore.
