<p>How often do you visit your sponsor families?</p>
<p>I usually visit every 1 or 2 weeks. I'm not the norm. My sponsor family is amazing, so I spend as much time with them as possible. IE, they have a condo in Keystone, so I went with them last weekend to ski! It depends on your family.</p>
<p>How does one go about hooking up with a family?</p>
<p>You will be automatically paired with a family once your acceptance is final. You'll get a call asking about personal preferences, allergies, faith, necessities, etc...so they can pair you up well.</p>
<p>I was incredibly fortunate (this rarely happens) to have a family that are old friends who live in the Springs, so they put in a request for me and I go there just about every weekend. Not everyone is that lucky, but there are good families out there...most people don't visit them much, though.</p>
<p>How often are you able to leave the academy?</p>
<p>Depends. If you're on some sort of probation, almost never. If not, then you have 5 passes per half semester plus 5 more for each list (Dean's, comm's, athletic). If you go to your sponsor's on sundays, that doesn't count towards passes. I am on ski club which allows me to use a special pass twice a month so I don't have to use mine. Essentially, if you play it right (I do), then you can leave every weekend.</p>
