There must be some cadets who don’t have parents coming. Do parents every “adopt” a friend for the weekend? That would seem normal but I’m curious if that’s at all common/typical. I know, for example, that many parents of foreign cadets won’t be there.

If their parents can't be there. Some go with their sponsor family. After the football game, was a good time to pick up our cadets. Except our football player, he was always busy.

BTW there is no football game this year. Very good planning for parents of team players. :) I added a 2nd suite at the hotel to make room for any "adopted" cadets my son has befriended. It would break my heart if I were a parent that could not attend, not so much for me but for my cadet that had to stay in the dorms. We are family aren't we?

Most parents do make it out for it, but as it was mentioned, some spend it with sponsor families (or sometimes friends' parents). No one stays in the dorms that weekend, unless people actually WANT to.

The extra suite may or may not be needed, but that's a nice gesture.

The extra suite will be nice since we are bringing two teenage siblings.
