<p>i'm going to spop 3 this weekend. what should i bring? for those of you who already went, any tips for me?</p>
<p>I went to SPOP 2. There really isn't much to bring.</p>
<p>1) Blankets, pillows, and towels, and a bar of soap is provided. There is also fountain water at your dorm (the hall I stayed at had COLD water, but I heard some other halls don't have cold fountain water)
2) It may be advisable to bring an alarm clock (although it is very possible that you won't sleep along with your fellow SPOPers.
3) There is no air conditioning at the dorms so you might benefit from bringing a portable fan
4) You probably won't be getting a lot of sleep (the schedule you see online doesn't show everything...usually there's more to do). This would probably mean going to In-N-Out Burger and Cha (boba place) the first evening (yes, at 12am) and for the second night a scavenger hunt (that I sadly didn't participate in due to lack of sleep).
5) Do NOT bring valuables to the orientation because I'm assuming your roommate will not want to lock the dorm room door (even though you could).
6) For the last day, you might end up leaving early as the last two items are check-out and lunch (so you might consider having your parents pick you up earlier maybe at 11:30am/12:00pm for Saturday.</p>
<p>Here's some more tips I guess:
*You can save THREE CENTS by purchasing the UCI General Catalogue at the UCI Bookstore versus buying it at the booth they set up. ($6.47 at bookstore, $6.50 at table)
*If you lose your dorm keys...they say you'll have to pay $105...haha
*If you're taking placement tests before SPOP, you'll drop off your luggage at Gateway Plaza first where there will be people looking after your belongings.
*ALL the staffers there are volunteers (except for FIVE coordinators that are paid) so try to treat your SPOP staffers with respect and such.</p>

<p>You can bring a duffel bag or a suitcase. Whatever suits your needs. I met many awesome girls, including one special person who has left us a few days ago. RIP Momo Nakamura.</p>
